Tim Flavin was born in Joliet, Illinois, in 1958.
Having moved with his family to Lake Charles,
Louisiana in 1972, he attended McNeese State
University and Louisiana State University, majoring
in mathematics and construction technology.
He received his state general contractors license in
1980 and his real estate broker license in 1997.
That same year he was honored as U.S. Small Business
"Business Person of the Year." On April 8,
2008, he was appointed to the Louisiana Real Estate
Commission by Governor Bobby Jindal.
Commissioner Flavin has served on the Board of
Directors of the SWLA Chamber of Commerce, as well
as the Christmas in April Board. He served as the
president of the SWLA Board of Realtors in 2007, and
was named "Realtor of the Year" by this board in
2008. He also coached girls fast pitch softball for
twelve years, leading his teams to multiple state
championships.
Commissioner Flavin and his wife, Katherine Abraham
Flavin, are raising three daughters, all of whom
currently attend Louisiana State University.
He considers it an honor and a privilege to serve on
the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.
