In November of 2011 the Investigation Division was granted the authority to issue citations. Citations can be issued for advertising violations as well as for other common violations. By allowing staff to issue citations, it not only expedites the adjudicatory process but requires the licensee to pay less administrative costs than if they had to appear at an informal or formal hearing.

The most commons citations issued by the Investigation Division arise from improper advertisements or escrow account issues. Licensees wishing to avoid citations should take a moment to review the Commission's Rules and Regulations.
