The Louisiana Real Estate Commission is required by law to investigate any complaint submitted in writing to the agency and may, upon its own motion, investigate any possible violation of the Louisiana Real Estate License Law or Rules and Regulations of the Commission, which come to its attention.

Complaints may be filed against the following persons under the jurisdiction of the Commission:

  • Licensed Louisiana Real Estate Brokers

  • Licensed Louisiana Real Estate Salespersons

  • Registered Louisiana Timeshare Developers

  • Registered Louisiana Timeshare Salespersons

  • Certified Louisiana Real Estate Schools

  • Certified Louisiana Real Estate Instructors

  • Certified Louisiana Education Vendors

The Commission may not intervene, provide advice, or act on behalf of licensees or the general public in the following areas:

  • Disputes between licensees over the payment or division of a commission

  • Escrow deposit disputes

  • Interpretation of contracts
